About
The story behind Visitors.today — why we built it, who we are, and how it all works.
We've spent years working with analytics tools — Google Analytics, Mixpanel, PostHog, Amplitude, Heap — and we kept hitting the same wall. These tools are powerful, but they're built for data teams, not for the site owner who just wants to know why signups dropped this week or which blog post is actually driving conversions.
Google Analytics requires a certification to use effectively. Mixpanel charges per event and gets expensive fast. PostHog is open-source and capable, but self-hosting it means running ClickHouse clusters and managing infrastructure that has nothing to do with your actual product. Even the simpler alternatives like Plausible and Fathom — which we genuinely respect — give you a cleaner dashboard but still require you to interpret the numbers yourself.
The insight that led to Visitors.today was simple: most site owners don't want to learn pivot tables. They don't want to build custom funnels. They don't want to stare at time-series charts and figure out what changed. They just want to ask "why did X happen?" and get a straight answer. That's what AI is good at — reading a lot of structured data and summarizing what matters in plain language.
So we built an analytics platform where the primary interface is a question box. The dashboard exists for at-a-glance monitoring, but the real power is in the AI. You ask a question, the AI reads your event data, and you get an answer in seconds. No training, no setup, no learning curve. If you can type a question, you can use Visitors.today.
